Freedivng for Young People
Youth Skin Diver | Youth Freediving
Everblue Freediving will provide freediving instruction for young people, ten years and older and that are competent surface swimmers, with written parental consent. It’s fun, it’s empowering, and children are frequently quite good at it. The practice of freediving involves learning a lot of practical physics, physiology, psychology, marine biology and animal behavior, sea conditions, and more. We make learning it fun because it is fun...
We offer the same private freediving instruction to youth as we do to adults unless you want to do a group class.. Parents are encouraged to be present and even take the course alongside their child. Contact us for discount rates for Parent/Child classes.
Age 10 and Above - Introduction to Freediving
This course is the "Introduction to Freediving" course, adapted for young people. The goal is to reach ten meters or about 30ft. We teach all the basics and we make it fun. All classes take place in the sea, on a very active reef and we often encounter dolphins, sea turtles and fish. Our instructors are knowledgable not only about the sea life, they are also familiar with the stories and Hawaiian names of many of them.
Parental approval is required.
Students must be competent suface swimmers and familiar with mask, snorkel and fins.
Recommended - a wetsuit (ask us about where one can be rented) is a very helpful item. It protects from sun and from cold.... and it floats very well, making it a very useful piece of safety and swimming equipment.
Class can be completed with basic swimming fins and a mask and snorkel that fits properly.
Contact us for more information.
Age 12 and Above - Beginning Freediving | Freediver I
This course is the same as the Beginning Freediving course we offer to adults. It consists of three, half-day sessions. Private instruction unless otherwise requested.

Educational Swimming / Snorkeling Tours for Young People
We are experienced swim guides and are familiar with sea life, dolphin swimming etiquette, fish identification, and more. Young people are welcome, allow us to give them an educational and fun experience meeting the denizens of our reef. Meet and learn about our turtles, fish, dolphins and other sea beings that we may encounter. Tours are about three hours long (dependant on the capacity of the student to swim). We bring safety equipment and support swimmers to ensure a safe and educational swim. We can bring a camera and make sure that you have some pictures to share, just ask.
